That was great! Thanks!
Oh, I meant to reply sooner...
Thanks Steve! It was a lot of fun to make. Now I just have to wait until Oct 25 to find out if I win the Blender contest!
Me like.
Very fun video. I'm impressed more with your story-telling ability and ability to give animated characters life than with your technical skills, but the latter were still polished enough that they didn't distract at all from enjoying the film.
Fantastic work, and very enjoyable.
Thank you Leonardo! I had help with the script but I did edit some of the story. I also had to cut a scene because of a deadline for a Blender contest.
I realize that there's lots that can be improved and I think if I would have had more time I could have done a better job. I had to finish it by October 1st to enter it in the Blender 2008 Animation Festival. It was all done in about 3 and a half weeks. Actually, I had the characters and part of the set finished before I even knew about the contest.
I'm pleased with it considering it was my first and the short amount of time I had.
Just out of curiosity: How did you find my blog?
Hi, Matt!
I'm doing some VFX work for Jordan Smith over at PhantomMoose.com. You posted there, and I simply followed the link under your name to your blog.
I hope to look around a little bit more. :)
- Leonardo, who is not quite sure why he signs his name "Leonardo" instead of his real name, Jordan Harris.
Hey, Matt! :)
Congratulations! The first short is always special!
As leonardo said, it has some shortcomings, but it's kind of natural for everyone's first short. I also agree with him about your storytelling, and I like your use of colors and camera.
It's also good to notice that you even played the trumpet. ;)
Again, congrats and good luck!
